SEOGWIPO, South
Korea, June 15 (Xinhuanet) -- Cesare Maldini was looking forward to
returning to his old job at AC Milan after coaching Paraguay to the second
round of the World Cup. "I am happy about the job I did at
Paraguay. The players are very professional and did well to get this far.
But now I go back to Milan," the Italian coach said. At 70
the oldest coach in the tournament, Maldini will return to his role as
Milan's chief talent scout. The former Italy coach said Paraguay played well
against a very strong German side, but probably deserved to lose
1-0. "It was a very balanced game until the end. There had been
no major goal-scoring opportunities from either side until that run on
the right and that great goal from (Oliver) Neuville," Maldini
said. Known for his defensive approach to the game, Maldini
said he expected Germany to play as it did. "This is Germany. They may
not be particularly strong technically, but they are very strong
physically," he said. Enditem |
