ANKARA, June 13 (Xinhuanet) -- Thousands of fans took to the streets in Turkey Thursday to celebrate the national team booking a place in the second round of the World Cup.

　　The downtown areas of Istanbul and the capital Ankara were a sea of red and white flags as fans flocked together after Turkey's3-0 victory over China in Seoul.

　　Large numbers of people also celebrated by firing hand guns into air. It was a mixture of joy and relief for anxious Turkish fans whose team is making just its second appearance at the World Cup in 48 years. Enditem
