¡¡¡¡¡¡BEIJING, June 11 (Xinhuanet) -- The second summit meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) held recently in St. Petersburg, a very important gathering at a critical juncture in the new century, is crowned with great success.

¡¡¡¡Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Liu Jianchao made the remarks in Beijing Tuesday at a regular press conference.

¡¡¡¡The charter of the SCO adopted at the summit has clearly set forth the goal, principles, institution of organizational structures and rules of operation, and laid a solid legal basis for its building and development.

¡¡¡¡Liu stressed the agreement on an anti-terrorism agency providedthe legal evidence for all member countries to back the anti-terrorism campaign, and crack down further on the three forces of terrorism, separatism and extremism.

¡¡¡¡The Declaration of Presidents of the SCO Member Countries demonstrated a common stance and principled propositions on major current international and regional issues, he noted.

¡¡¡¡Liu also expressed his conviction that the successful summit and its outcome would help advance the systems construction and work of the SCO in the future. Enditem
