(Xinhuanet) -- About 75 percent of Costa Ricans trust the national soccer
team will qualify to the second round of the Korea-Japan 2002 World Cup,
according to an opinion poll released on Wednesday. In
relation to the question "Will Costa Rica Qualify to the Second Round?" only
25 percent of the interviewed individuals answered "no," according to the
poll organized by Perigol, that counted with the participation of 32
commercial firms. In the study released on Wednesday by the
local press, the answer to the question "Who will be the World Cup
champion?" was Argentina (36 percent), while 20 percent of Costa Ricans said
Brazil would be the winner, and only 17 percent chose France as the
favorite to win Korea-Japan 2002. Whatever happens in relation
to Turkey, is something different, for it is a tougher team; nevertheless,
the first step has been taken, and there is a space to dream with a new
night of celebration, Cortes said. During the June 4 match
against China, the national team scored twice in the second half of the game,
and is first of Group C, with Brazil following with three points, and Turkey
