WELLINGTON, June 5 (Xinhuanet) -- New Zealand will hold a film
festival in China from June 8 to 22, the first of its kind the
Oceanian country will hold in China.
Five films, all representative works of the New Zealand film
industry from 1994 to 2001, will be shown in Shanghai, Beijing and
Tianjin during the festival.
The films are "Once Were Warriors," "Scarifies," "The Price of
Milk," "Magik & Rose" and "Jubilee."
The festival is sponsored by the Pacific Culture and Arts
Exchange Center in New Zealand.
Jie He, president of the center, told Xinhua that New Zealand
films have never been introduced to China before and he hopes the
Chinese people will know more about the beautiful island country
through the showing of the films.
New Zealand hosted two Chinese film festivals in 1998 and 2000
