ĦĦĦĦHANOI, May 21 (Xinhuanet) -- Vietnam hopes to further enhance exchanges and
cooperation between the Vietnamese National Assembly(NA) and the Chinese
National People's Congress (NPC), Chairman ofthe Vietnamese NA Nguyen Van An
stressed.
ĦĦĦĦAn made the remarks here Tuesday while meeting with visiting delegation of the
Foreign Affairs Committee of the Chinese NPC led by the committee's Vice
Chairman Cai Fangbai.
ĦĦĦĦAfter expressing his warm welcome to the visit of the Chinese delegation, An
said his visit to China last April at the invitation of NPC Standing Committee
Chairman Li Peng had achieved great successes, and left fine impression
on him.
ĦĦĦĦHe added what impressed him most is the further growth in the friendly and cooperative
relationship between the two Parties, two countries, and two peoples
of Vietnam and China, and the great achievements that Chinese people attained in
the reform and opening-up drive in the past more than 20 years.
ĦĦĦĦThe exchanges and cooperation between the Vietnamese NA and theChinese NPC
have also been strengthened since the normalization ofthe relations between two
Parties and between the two countries, An noted.
ĦĦĦĦThe Vietnamese National Assembly leader expressed his confidence that the
relationship between the two Parties and between the two countries will further
develop in the 21st centuryunder the guidance of the principle "long-term
stability, orientation towards the future, good-neighborliness and friendshipand
all-round cooperation" set by the Communist Parties' leaders of Vietnam and
China.
ĦĦĦĦIn response, Cai Fangbai said that the exchange and cooperation between the Chinese NPC
and the Vietnamese NA is an important part in the all-round friendly and
cooperative relationship between the two countries.
ĦĦĦĦThe Chinese side will continue to make efforts to promote exchanges and
cooperation between the two parliaments, contributing to the development of
Sino-Vietnamese friendship and the two countries' socio-economic development,
Cai added.
ĦĦĦĦBefore the meeting, Vietnamese Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Tan
Dung and Foreign Minister Nguyen Dy Nien met with the Chinese delegation
separately.
ĦĦĦĦThe delegation arrived here Monday evening for a five-day visitto Vietnam
