CAIRO, April 14 (Xinhuanet) -- Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak on
Sunday met with visiting Chinese Minister of Education Chen Zhili.
   During the meeting, Mubarak said that educational exchanges
between Egypt and China have played a positive role in enhancing
friendship between the two countries.
   On her part, Chen briefed Mubarak on China's educational reform
and development.
   Chen is here to attend the sixth forum on education between the
two countries.
   Egyptian Prime Minister Atef Obeid also met with Chen on ways to
boost educational cooperation between the two countries on
Saturday.
   Chen told reporters after her meeting with Obeid that the two
countries enjoy a time-honored friendship, hailing fruitful
cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
   She also expressed hope that her visit to Egypt will contribute
to the success of Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji's visit to Egypt later
this month.
   On Saturday, Chen and Egyptian Minister of Higher Education and
Minister of State for Scientific Research Mufeed Shehab inaugurated
a language laboratory, which was donated by China to the Chinese
language department of the college of languages of Ein Shams
