Vietnam's Mass Organizations Demand Israel Resume Negotiations

Xinhuanet 2002-04-05 00:03:41
HANOI, April 5 (Xinhuanet) -- Vietnam's mass organizations have
expressed deep concerns about Israel's major military operation
against Palestinians on the West Bank and Gaza.
The Vietnam Committee for Solidarity and Cooperation with
Peoples of Asia, Africa and Latin America and the Vietnam
Committee for Solidarity with Palestinian People in a statement
issued here on Friday strongly protest against Israel's brazen
aggressive action against the Palestinian people, saying Israel
disregards international laws and opinions, threatens peace and
security in the Middle East and in the world.
"More seriously, the Israeli troops have used tanks to attack
the working compound of President Yasser Arafat, endangering his
life," the Vietnamese mass organizations stressed.
They demand Israeli assurance of President Yaasser Arafat's
safety and immediate withdrawal from the Palestinian land and
reiterate their persistent and full support to the Palestinian
people's just cause led by President of the State of Palestine
Yasser Arafat for their inalienable rights of self-determination
and an Independent Palestinian State.
These organizations earnestly call on the concerned parties to
take action to resume early negotiations for a lasting and
peaceful solution in the Middle East. Enditem
