Afghan Finance Minister Arrives in Islamabad for Assistance

””””ISLAMABAD, February 25 (Xinhuanet) -- Afghan interim-government Finance Minister arrived here on Monday with a heavy agenda of negotiation for the issues of 100 million U.S. dollars' assistance,new bank branches, restoration of transit trade and new trade channel, officials said.

””””He is scheduled to hold meetings with Pakistani Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz, Commerce Minister Abdul Razak Dawood and other senior government officials.

””””Pakistan has announced 100 million dollars' assistance for reconstruction and rehabilitation of Afghanistan.

””””Both countries have pledged to open bank branches on a reciprocal basis and a new trade channel with the objective to enhance bilateral trade between the two countries.

””””Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz and his Afghan counterpart would give final touches to Pakistan's economic assistance for reconstruction and rehabilitation in Afghanistan.
