NATIONS, February 12 (Xinhuanet) -- U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan is
expected to arrive in Washington D.C. on Wednesday to discuss the HIV/AIDS
epidemic with members of a key U.S. Senate committee, U.N. spokesman Fred
Eckhard said here Tuesday. "The secretary-general will travel to
Washington D.C., tomorrow for an informal discussion on the global impact of
AIDS with members of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, at the
invitation of Committee Chairman Joseph Biden and ranking members Jesse
Helms," the spokesman said. At the outset of the meeting, Annan
is expected to make brief opening remarks, the spokesman said. Enditem
