YANGON, February
7 (Xinhuanet) -- Myanmar and Thailand reached an agreement on avoidance of
double taxation here Thursday afternoon, the state-run Radio Myanmar
reported. The agreement was signed by Myanmar Minister of
Finance and Revenue U. Khin Maung Thein and visiting Thai Foreign Minister
Surakiart Sathirathai on behalf of their respective
governments. Prior to the signing, Vice-Chairman of the Myanmar
State Peace and Development Council (SPDC) Maung Aye and SPDC First
Secretary Khin Nyunt met with Surakiart separately.
Surakiart arrived here Wednesday on a three-day official visit to Myanmar at
the invitation of his Myanmar counterpart U. Win Aung.
Myanmar earlier signed similar agreements with three other member nations of
the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, namely Malaysia, Vietnam and
